Pulling the Zone!
May 16, 2008
This last few weeks have actually been outrageously fun! I dinged to 40, partied with my linkshell and farmed my Paladin butt off.
Most notably, Steban and I were in Ghelsba Outpost killing the Warchief for his Bastok mission, when I had an epiphany…I should pull the zone. So I did. I used Flash on one of the Orcs, did a lap to get the other Orcs to link, and started running. I Linked every single Orc that I could find on my way to the other end of the zone. In total, we counted about 40 Orcs. We’re going to do it again to get a better screenshot, but until then, here’s what I got:
(Party)(Do you need it?)

Good grief, I partied my pants off the last week. Overall, it was a generally good experience. I used 3 exp charges and met some pretty swell people. I dinged all the way to 37, and I’m nearly 38. Flash makes my life so much easier. I’m just a hate machine.
I did have a bad experience, however, some loser named Deadnewb criticized me because he was having a bad day or something. Personally, I think he’s just a jerk. When my party first arrived in Garliage Citadel, we had a really bad camp and nearly wiped twice. One of the times I held hate long enough let my party members live, but that meant I died. Which I was OK with because our WHM raised me and I still had my level. But Deadnewb’s party was camped in between us and the zone, so of course he saw all of it. His party disbanded later and sat around examining my party and publicly putting me down for dying 5min into starting our party. He then shouted to the zone that I was “Too weak” and sent tells to other party members about me being a bad tank. They sternly told him that was a pretty good tank and that he was a jerk. Later he tried to hide himself and sneak into a party with Zinfandel as a 36 BLM saying he was a 36 WHM. Sorry bud, people notice. His friend Sungod got him into that party and was later put into a party with me and failed to execute a single SATA and was rather rude. Needless to say, both of them have been blacklisted by both Zin and I. Other than that I made a few new friends and finally got to party with Zin and Edowyn again. And I got to party with Ahelem for the first time at 30 in the jungles. Goodtimes were had by all.
Journey Abroad…Almost
April 29, 2008
Today we were going to run San d’Oria Mission 2-3: Journey Abroad. We were. But we hit a few roadbumps.
First Boobahs and Cambria had big internet problems. They couldn’t connect for more than a few minutes at a time, and as much as they may have tried to stay connected and play with their router, there was no avail. The mighty disconnect won. Then Domin, a friend of Edowyn, got tired of waiting around and left the group. I can’t really blame him either, as we started at 1AM to him. So after getting completely ready: Zinfandel, Edowyn and I were ready to go. We got to Giddeus and…oops, only one person brought their gear for being capped at 25. So, with two gimped players, we entered the BCNM. First went Zinfandel, then myself, and finally Edowyn fell. We fell hard. But it was fun!
Word to the wise: Don’t attempt to defeat any BCNM naked. It’s not a good idea, not at all.
Waiting on the elevator…
Where does the pot of Gil spawn? SERIOUSLY!?!
Triumph in Valkrum
April 27, 2008
Finally. Finally. Finally. Dinarion hit 18. That was absurdly difficult. No one should have to deal that that many incompetiant players just to get through a zone. I know they’re the dunes and that’s just how they work. But good grief! He’d tell me stories of people starting a party, seeing that there were only two people and that the party was not fully formed, and then leave the party. Or people that would expect a party in a short period of time, disband the 4 people that had just invited and then flag themselves as looking for party all over again.
Hopefully his next 20 levels won’t be that bad!
EXP x4!!!
April 26, 2008
Holy Cow! I did not really expect my party today to be as awesome as it was. At first I thought I’d just grab some people together, and start my grind to 30. I figured it would take a few days. Clearly I was mistaken. One of the guys brought along a PL and got most of us four levels. Yes FOUR. It was very impressive. I never had time to heal, and didn’t really need to, as the PL absolutely dominated. It was a great group and I was pleasantly surprised.
Other than that, I plan to do some PVP with Riakyo and see how things go. I don’t know how much I’ll like it, but hey, its something to do.
And now: some screenshots from today:

Valkrum-Shmalkrum

Oh how I loathe Valkrum. Valkrum Dunes and Yuhtunga Jungle can be such a pain. They’re those awakward levels that are just hard to play. Your tanks generally suck, or are struggling to keep hate. And as long as you have a healer, and a main tank, the rest of the slots are filled with any class available.
That being said, I was in both today! Fun times. I had a pretty good Party with Edowyn. We hit 26 and I’m just that much closer to being able to keep hate well as a Paladin. I had good group in Valkrum, too (respectively speaking), and made a new friend Pounce. I also finished getting Dinarion his Subjob items for the Mhaura quest. So once he dings to 18, he’s all set.

Hopefully I can hit 30 by Monday.^^

Last night was spent farming. It’s amazing that when farming some items, they’ll drop immediately on some runs and they take days on others. I took Mrfrost farming in Buburimu Peninsula for his subjob items and they all dropped on the first kill. However when I took Dinarion to get his, all we got was the Wild Rabbit Tail. I don’t understand how I can eradicate the Dhalmel population and not get a drop of their saliva. With that said, I think the Mhaura subjob quest is much easier and has higher drop rates than the Selbina quest. Mainly because it’s much easier to find multiple Bogys than it is to find Ghouls in Valkrum Dunes.
Tonight, we try again! (And get Dinarion to level 18 so he can unlock his subjob and start the grind to Scholar!)
